Dental Emergency

What to do in the Event of A Dental Emergency

Temporary Crown Comes Off

As a temporary crown is only a device to protect the prepared tooth, you can likely save a trip to the dentist by simply cleaning the inside of the device off, lightly rinsing off the area where the temporary crown was and then repositioning the temporary back on the tooth.

Make sure not to let the tooth go without a temporary over it for more than a couple of days.  This would risk leakage and the possibility of re-infection.  You can try dental adhesive powder or even a small amount of toothpaste to help hold it in place until you can make it to the dentist.
