FLOSSING TIPS

Patients may have noticed in our waiting area, on one of the walls a sign which offers a thought, "Do I have to floss all my teeth? The answer provided, "Only the ones you want to keep!" We can't emphasize too greatly, the necessity of flossing all your teeth each day. Flossing teeth requires about 18 inches of floss. Holding the floss tightly, gently guide it between your teeth. Avoid snapping the floss to prevent cutting the gums. Once you've reached the gumline, curve the floss into a C-shape against one tooth. Gently slide it into the space between the gum and the tooth until you feel pressure against the tooth. Then scrape the side of the tooth gently. Repeat for all your teeth, moving to a clean section of floss after one or two teeth.
